
The Keough-Naughton Institute is accepting proposals for a grant of up to $5,000 the development of a new Irish studies course. The Institute is an interdisciplinary project devoted to teaching and research in Irish culture and society in all of its internal aspects and external relations. Consequently we define Irish Studies in broad terms and encourage applications from Teaching-and-Research and Special Professional Faculty interested in all fields of study.
Applications for this program should delineate how aspects of Irish Studies will be incorporated into the course content. The deadline for the 2008 applications is April 21, 2008. Candidates should submit a proposal of approximately 2-3 pages. The proposal should include the following information:
-Name of the course
-Brief Description
Clearly identify how this course will relate to Irish studies. What new insights will it bring to interdisciplinary analysis of Ireland?
Curriculum Vitae
A brief statement (written or email) from the applicant's Department Chair indicating departmental approval of the course and verifying that the course will be offered at least once during the upcoming two academic years.
