The Keough-Naughton Institiute for Irish Studies presents Ciaran Brady, Trinity College Dublin, who will give a lecture "Alice Stopford Green and the Contest for Irish History" on Wednesday, April16th at noon in 424 Flanner Hall.   Ciaran is the author of several books concerning Irish and English history in the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries, including British Interventions in Early Modern Ireland (Ed., with Jane Ohlmeyer; 2005) and The Chief Governors: The Rise and Fall of Reform Government in Tudor Ireland, 1536-1588 (1994). His book Interpreting Irish history: The Debate on Historical Revisionism, 1938-1994 (1994), was a well received consideration of Irish historigraphy.
