Fearghal McGarry, Queen’s University Belfast, will give a lecture “Lost Republic: The Abbey Theatre’s 1916 Rebels” on Thursday, September 12th at 4:PM in 424 Flanner Hall. A lecturer in modern Irish history, Dr. McGarry has written two works on the Easter Rising - The Rising Ireland: Easter 1916 (Oxford University Press, 2011) and Rebels: Voices from the Easter Rising (Penguin Ireland 2011), an edited collection of the Bureau of Military History’s witness statements on 1916.
