Graduate Student Jessica Lumsden will present "Shamrocks and Secrets: Ribbonism and Irish Nationalism, 1798-1803" at 3PM on Friday, February 13th in 424 Flanner Hall. 

Jessica is a PhD candidate in the Department of History and is affiliated with both the Keough-Naughton Institute and the Nanovic Institute for European Studies.   Recipient of numerous research awards and travel grants, Jess has acted as a graduate teaching assistant for multiple classes and was lead instructor for the class "Irish Secret Societies in the Atlantic World."

Her publication "Night Marauders and Deluded Wretches; public discourse on Ribbonism in the pre-famine era" in Crime, Violence and Ireland in the Nineteenth Century, Liverpool: Liverpool University Press is forthcoming this year.
