Dr. Heather Stanfiel - Program Manager, Global Ireland Initiative

Dr. Heather Stanfiel is the Program Manager for the Global Ireland Initiative at the Keough-Naughton Institute. Her responsibilies include research programming for the initiative as well as for the Clingen Family Center for the Study of Modern Ireland. She also oversees the PARISH research project and serves as the campus-based liaison for ARINS.

Dr. Stanfiel is also the Institute's liaison to undergraduates and is currently developing two new courses in public history for Irish Studies students.

She earned her Ph.D. in Modern European History and Irish Studies from Notre Dame in 2019 and joined the Keough-Naughton Institute in the spring of 2021 after a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Nanovic Institute for European Studies.

She also holds a B.A. in History and Mediterranean Studies from Clarion University, a dual M.A. in Ancient History and Classical Languages from Indiana University, and an M.A. in Irish Studies from Queen's University Belfast.
