Shane O’Neill, Professor of Political Theory and Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast, presents "Conflict and Peace in Northern Ireland: A Critical-Theorectical Interpretation" on Wednesday, November 13th at noon in 424 Flanner Hall. Shane is author of Impartiality in Context: Grounding Justice in a Pluralist World (State University of New York Press 1997) and of numerous articles in journals of politics, law and philosophy. He has published extensively on normative aspects of peace processes in ethno-nationally divided societies, particularly Northern Ireland. His recent books as co-editor include: Recognition, Equality and Democracy (Routledge 2008); After the Nation? (Palgrave Macmillan 2010); and Recognition Theory as Social Research (Palgrave Macmillan 2012).
