Claire Connolly, University College Cork, will present a lecture "Bookish History: Irish Romanticism and the Culture of the Copy" on Thursday, April 10th at 4 PM in 424 Flanner Hall. Claire, a professor in Modern English, is the author of A Cultural History of the Irish Novel, 1790-1829 (Cambridge University Press, 2012) and winner of the 2012 Donald Murphy Prize for Distinguished First Book, an annual prize awarded by the American Conference for Irish Studies. 

Claire's research interests are the cultural history of 18th and 19th-century Ireland, including Irish writing and Ireland and cultural theory.
