About Annemarie Ní Churreáin
Annemarie Ní Churreáin is a poet from the Donegal Gaeltacht in Ireland. Her third poetry collection is Hymn to All the Restless Girls (The Gallery Press, 2025). She is also author of Bloodroot (Doire Press, 2017), Town (The Salvage Press, 2019), The Poison Glen (The Gallery Press, 2021) and Boy Dancer (Solstice Arts, 2026) - a special limited edition book collaboration with visual artist Niamh McCann.
Ní Churreáin is a recipient of the Michael Hartnett Poetry Award 2026. Her work has been shortlisted for the Farmgate Café National Poetry Award and the Ledbury Hellens Poetry Prize. She has previously received the Arts Council’s Next Generation Artist Award, The Markievicz Award and the Kavanagh Fellowship. She is a former fellow of Akademie Schloss Solitude in Germany. Ní Churreáin is a co-librettist of The Curing Line, a new opera by Michael Gallen and Straymaker, which won the FEDORA Opera Prize 2025 and is currently touring worldwide.
Ní Churreáin is Irish Writer Fellow in Residence at the University of Notre Dame for the academic year 2026-27 and Yeats Society Sligo Poet in Residence 2026-28. She is the poetry editor at The Stinging Fly Magazine.
