Dr. David Kenney, the W.B. Yeats Postdoctoral Fellow for 2023-24, will deliver a lecture titled "Rascals and Rogues: Irish Picaresque Representation in the Nineteenth-Century," on Monday, October 2 from 12:00-1:15 p.m.

Kenney specializes in Irish and British literature of the nineteenth-century. As the W.B. Yeats Fellow in Irish Literature, he researches the evolution of the national romance and picaresque genres in the early Anglo-Irish novel. His reevaluations of neglected authors of the nineteenth-century is being done to help integrate their works into broader discussions of the trajectory of Irish literature and the development of the modern Irish novel. Kenney earned his PhD in English from Marquette University and MA in Irish Studies from the National University of Ireland, Galway.

This lecture will take place in room 235 Decio Hall. Lunch will be provided.
