The work of our scholars—students, faculty, and visitors—is grounded in our Hesburgh Libraries' rich and extensive Irish Studies collections.
This fall term, Irish Studies Librarian Aedín Ní Bhróithe Clements will offer three sessions in the Hesburgh Library focused on Irish Studies resources.
The sessions are separate and independent of one another. Participants can attend one, two, or all three sessions. Each session has its own registration link.
Registrants can be advanced undergraduate students (particularly those engaged in a capstone or thesis) graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, visiting scholars, current faculty.
The first two sessions will be followed by a complimentary lunch, where registrants can become better acquainted with each other as well as find out more about the collection.

Session 1: Using Newspapers, Periodicals, and Pamphlets for Irish Studies Research
Friday, Sept. 3, 11 am- 12 noon, followed by a complimentary lunch

Introduction to the primary digitized collections for Ireland, including the Irish Newspaper Archive and many more resources.
Introduction to sources of periodicals, pamphlets, reports and other primary sources that may be discovered and searched online.
Special Collections, e.g. eighteenth-century newspapers, An Claidheamh Soluis, Irish-American periodicals.
In this session we will also refer to important tools for research in Irish studies.
