The application cycle (2022 awards) is now open for the Keough-Naughton Library Research Award in Irish Studies for Visiting Scholars.

The competitive award, jointly sponsored by the Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies and Notre Dame International, allows scholars to carry out research in any aspect of Irish studies at Notre Dame’s Hesburgh Libraries.

Dr. Kathleen Costello-Sullivan, Associate Professor of Modern Irish literature, Le Moyne College, is the most recent awardee to visit campus—a visit postponed since Spring 2020 due to the pandemic. She spent a week in mid-October immersed in the Hesburgh Library's extensive collection of contemporary Irish fiction for her current project on the nurturing parental body in Irish novels, and also spent time with the Yeats collection.

We look forward to welcoming more scholars for such visits and invite applications for the spring and summer of 2022.
