Keough-Naughton Library Research Award in Irish Studies
The Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies and Notre Dame Global jointly sponsor the Keough-Naughton Library Research Awards in Irish Studies for Visiting Scholars. These awards provide grant funding to assist scholars who travel to the Notre Dame campus to use the collections of the Hesburgh Libraries for research in all aspects of Irish studies. There are two special awards within the available Library Research Awards: an Award for Research in the Irish Language, as part of the Irish Language Initatives, in the College of Arts and Letters; and, starting in 2026, an Award for Research in the S. B. Kennedy Collection, the papers of curator and art historian S.B. Kennedy, whose landmark publication, Irish Art & Modernism, 1880-1950, still inspires artists and scholars today.

Legacy Project Research Grants
The Clingen Family Center for the Study of Modern Ireland is pleased to offer a short-term, residential research grant to support use of the Legacy Project archive maintained by the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies in collaboration with the Lucy Family Institute for Data and Society, with support from the Humanity United Foundation. One award will be available per academic year, and is intended to support the cost of travel and accommodation for a short visit to the University of Notre Dame. Timing and duration are open to negotiation during the academic year in which the grant is awarded, and will be subject to approval.
